Greetings from Your Women's Leadership Council Co-Chairs

Welcome to our November/December 2017 WLC-Suite—our last issue of the year, and what a year it’s been! In 2017, the Women’s Leadership Council (WLC) doubled in size, and we raised nearly $1 million at our signature Power of Women to Make a Difference Award Luncheon, benefitting United Way of New York City's (UWNYC) ReadNYC program. United, we’ve helped UWNYC positively impact more than 700 ReadNYC students, nearly 200 parents150 teachers, and 23 principals.

On the heels of this impactful year, we’re eager for 2018. Our 12th annual Luncheon and UWNYC’s impending 80th anniversary offer us the perfect chance to make a monumental difference. As Sheena Wright, President & CEO of UWNYC exclaimed at our Luncheon kickoff’s Soiree Under the Stars event: “Let’s connect! Let’s activate!” Let’s continue our powerful fight for low-income families.

Wishing you a happy holiday, and we look forward to seeing you in 2018!

At the fete, WLC members and friends kicked off our 12th Annual Power of Women to Make a Difference Award Luncheon season as well as UWNYC’s impending 80th anniversary. “The power of women to make a difference is the call to arms,” said Sheena Wright, as she rallied guests around our $1 million Luncheon goal.
